Hello !
Welcome to my page!
My name is María Ester Guðjónsdóttir,
and I have over a decade of experience in the tourism industry.
I specialize in sustainable tourism, working systematically to help companies implement sustainable solutions and develop responsible practices within their operations.
I hold an academic background in tourism and sustainable development, and have worked in various roles across the industry — including operations, management, sales, supplier negotiations, and customer relations — at campsites, hotels, and travel agencies.
I have completed training and certification with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) and am licensed to work as a sustainability auditor. I also hold a personal certificate confirming my knowledge of the GSTC standards.
Additionally, I have completed training and passed the exam with Travelife for Tour Operators, focused on sustainability management. Among other exciting things!
if you'd like to get to know me better,
